| Ice Fishing on Leech Lake |
|
This winter has been no disappointment when it come to fishing on Leech Lake. The only regret I have is that I have not had more time to spend on the lake. Many walleye were caught and released. Including a good number of big fish. For every nice fish there were plenty of small one that will soon be the perfect size for the frying pan. If you enjoy ice fishing leech lake needs to be on your list of area's to try. I am so looking forward to those warm March days angling for perch and getting a tan on the ice. If you are considering buying property in the Leech Lake area give me a call. I would be happy to show you around and even tell you a few good fishing stories. cell 218-760-7318 Israel Moe |
| Summer day on Leech Lake |
|
I cant think of any thing I would rather be doing than spending a hot summer day with my family and friends on Leech Lake. I have lived in Walker MN since 1996 and I still live here because of my love for Leech Lake. For those of you who had not had a chance to experience boating on Leech Lake let me clue you in. Leech Lake 111,000 acres and has many sand bars and islands that are available for you to pull your boat up to, grab the cooler, grill and waste a whole day. Most people think Leech Lake is too big for them, but most of the lake is made up of different bays which mean there is a calm part of the lake to be found. Once you decide which one of the many beaches to spend your day at grab the sun screen and a drink and the rest comes easy. Sounds like a ruff day doesn't it?
Leech Lake has many resorts and restaurants to boat up to for gas or a meal. The water is clean and no the lake is NOT full of leeches. Only 1/3 of Leech Lake if privately owned the rest is state or Indian trust land. That means for the size of the lake there is very low boat traffic. Before you decide to purchase your lakeshore cabin or second home you will want to see what Leech Lake has to offer. |

Not only do I love selling real estate on Leech Lake, there is nothing better than netting a great Leech Lake walleye. This summer/fall I had the best fishing of my life. In a two week period, I was able to land over 200 walleyes; (most between 15-24 inches), with the largest being 26 inches, and losing a 30+ at the boat. Too bad we’ll never really know for sure. It seems that the new walleye management plan is already seeing signs of success. Whether you are looking for a premier fishing lake or just a great lake to cruise in the boat, Leech Lake is the best! Yes I am biased, but I live here because of Leech Lake and I have yet to find another like it. |
